AximTrade 2024 Review: Can You Trust Them

AximTrade is an international online brokerage and proud sponsor of the Alfa Romeo F1 team. According to WikiFX, they have only been in operation between 2 and 5 years, and in that time, they have amassed over 100 thousand active clients.

They offer their clients the chance to trade forex, metals, energies, stocks, indexes, and commodities in the form of CFDs with incentives such as flexible leverage and an asset list that exceeds 100 trading instruments.

Although their assets list comprises more than 100 instruments, it is pretty limited. They don’t seem to have much in the way of special promotions, trading resources, and educational material. Let’s look at this broker in-depth and see how they rank compared to the other brokers on the market.

Is AximTrade Safe? Broker Regulations

Looking at AximTrade, we find that if we scroll to the bottom of their homepage, they state that ASIC and then the FSA regulate them. However, doing some research, we came across some other websites that say they also have licenses from the BVI and SVG and that one should look out for these types of licenses because many scam brokers register forex brokers in these regions because the cost is low and the oversight is not strict.

If we head to the menu and click on the regulations page, we also find details on their license, which is similar to what we find in the footer of the homepage, but there is no mention of the BVI or SVG licenses here. Here they also mention that they are a Financial Services Provider that is registered in New Zealand.

Whatever the case with this broker, they do give their license numbers for each authority, and these are;

  • AximTrade LLC is incorporated under registration number 328 LLC 2020 by the Registrar of Limited Companies, LLC, registered by the Financial Services Authority of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and by the National Futures Association (ID: 0539713)
  • AximTrade Pty Limited is regulated by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), AFS Representative No. 1294600, under AFS License No. 435746

Based on the regulatory jursidictions mentioned, this broker legally operates only in certain countries such as is the case with AximTrade Malaysia, Cambodia, Chad, Netherlands, Qatar and numerous others. As for AximTrade’s prohibited regions of operation, some examples are Singapore, Canada, USA.

Typically, we would also look at client reviews from a site like TrustPilot, but this broker only has approximately 50 reviews. This is not enough to draw a solid conclusion about whether or not AximTrade is legitimate or reputable.

However, we can take a look at if they have any awards. Typically if a broker has received an award for parts of the features or services, then it is considered a good thing. Axim received four awards in 2022, including;

  • Best Forex IB Programme – Global
  • Best Forex Copy Trading Platform – Asia
  • Best Forex Broker – MENA
  • Best Forex IB Programme – MENA

But following these links, it is not clear who actually presented them with these awards.

  • Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC)
  • Financial Services Authority of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (FSA)

What Can I Trade with AximTrade?

According to the AximTrade “tools and specifications” page, you are able to trade Metals, forex, energies, indices (indexes), crypto, stocks, and commodities.

You will find that many online brokers offer these assets, and looking through their assets list, we conclude that what they have to offer is about average. Let’s look at them in a bit more detail to see what stands out.

Trading Instruments Available with AximTrade

Forex Trading

AximTrade states that they have over 49 currency pairs to trade (as shown in the image above). But for forex trading, look at their forex specifications chart and we can only see 33.

They offer all the major pairs and then most of the minor and some exotics, so this should not be a problem for most traders, as they tend to stick to trading the majors. It would help to remember that this broker deals in CFD trading, and you will find them detailing this in the footer section of their website.

Stocks Trading

Their stock portfolio is not too bad, with them having a total of 71 stocks to choose from (according to the specifications page). This means you will be able to trade stocks, from Apple to Tesla.

Commodities Trading

The AximTrade commodities list is severely lacking, with only cotton and sugar available. However, it should be noted that Metals and Energies are technically commodities, but many brokers assign them those categories for ease of use.

Indices Trading

Another list that does not have a lot of assets is the indexes list. It only has 10, and although you can choose from the most popular indices, many traders love to include them in their portfolios. There are also no baskets or bundles. Some brokers create these ETFs that track certain sectors allowing for more diversification. This is not the case with AximTrade.

Crypto Trading

Their Crypto list is quite comprehensive, with them having 37 to choose from. This means if you are into crypto, you will most likely find your favorite coins here. From Bitcoin to Ethereum and Doge. Not that these coins are all traded against the USD.

Energies Trading

AximTrade Energies refers to Brent and Crude oil along with Natural Gas. One thing to note is that the spread for these is pretty large, with the average spread being between 15 and 16 pips.

Metals Trading

Lastly, AximTrade has its “metals” asset list. Luckily enough, this broker shines here, offering more metals to trade than many other brokers. Typically you would see brokers only offering gold and silver. However, AximTrade has Palladium, Platinum, Lead, Nickel, Zinc, Copper, Aluminium, and a handful of others.

  • Cryptocurrency
  • Stocks

How to Trade with AximTrade?

There are only two ways to trade with AximTrade. They include using the trading platforms, MT4 and then their proprietary mobile app. MetaTrader4 is widely known and used by almost every broker that offers trading, and we have covered it extensively on PipPenguin and in other reviews.

Moving to their MetaTrader page, you will find the option to download the software for all platforms except iOS. They even include a link to the APK file if you do not want to download it from the Play Store. They also give you some images you can follow that will help you sign into your account and MT4 server, depending on your device.

Many brokers also offer MT5, or sometimes a proprietary platform. AxiTrade does not have either, but they do offer a MetaTrader desktop web terminal. The only other option in terms of software that will let clients trade is their mobile trading app.

The app features a quick and easy registration process, faster access and processing for deposits and withdrawals, copy trading, referral links, notifications, and support directly from within the app.

Remember that any mobile trading app may have some cool features, but they can never be as robust and offer all the features that MetaTrader has. These apps are meant for one-tap trading, and no specific orders are usually built into them.

They are meant to be used for individuals who can’t access MT4 from their desktop or are constantly on the go. We would always suggest planning out your positions (especially if using technical analysis) using MetaTrader. Then if you have to wait for the market to adjust and won’t be able to place a trade using your application, then using your phone when you are out and about would be best so you don’t miss your entry.

How Can I Open AximTrade Account? A Simple Tutorial

Opening an account with AximTrade is a little different when compared to that of other online brokers and how you would typically register with them. The process is pretty straightforward, though, and you should not find it complicated once you go through our easy tutorial.

You will find the first notable difference for registering when you head to their website. Brokers usually have some sort of a “register” or “signup” button located in or above the menu, which is easy to see and easily accessible.

In the case of AximTrade, they do not have this. They, in fact, dedicate the entire right side of the screen to a registration form, which is always visible no matter which page you choose to view on the site.

This is the first step to opening an account, and you will need to fill in these details before you proceed to the next step. Make sure you correctly fill in the information (location, email, mobile number, and password).

You will also need to submit the Captcha, and then we also suggest you read their terms and conditions along with their partnership agreement and privacy policy.

Once you have done this, you will be taken to another screen. This is where you will be prompted to enter the OTP that was sent to the phone for the number you gave previously.

After you input your OTP and click the “confirm” button, you will have registered and be taken to the client dashboard area. That is all you need to do to register with AximTrade. It is pretty simple.

Even though, at this point, your registration is pretty much “complete,” you will need to update your personal information (as you can tell by the image above). You will not be allowed to access the menu on the left side of the dashboard before completing this step, so it is important to do this.

Once you have completed this step, you will be given access to the menu, and a Standard account will have been created for you.

Take note that you must verify your identity by providing the correct documentation and personal information when withdrawing money from your trading account. However, you do not have to do this if you only wish to deposit and trade. This is a bit strange because brokers do tend to ask your name in the registration process (even if some have a similar signup process).

  • Head to the AximTrade Website
  • Navigate to the right side of the screen
  • Fill in the registration "section" on the right side
  • Input your details
  • Enter the OTP sent to your phone when prompted to
  • Login to the dashboard
  • Update your personal information
  • Verify your identity (when you need to withdraw)

AximTrade Charts and Analysis

An important aspect of brokers that many new and veteran traders always seem to forget is that an online broker will usually have trading resources available to new clients, prospective clients, and clients who have been with the brokerage for a while.

The information the broker provides is one way to tell if the broker actually puts some time and effort into helping and guiding their clients to improve their trading and investing skills.

Many brokers (like ZFX) have trading resources and educational material like articles, news, market outlook, FAQs, Help, Glossary, an Academy from beginner to expert, and more. The more effort a broker puts into the trading resources and education for their clients, the more reputable they tend to be and the more sterling customer reviews they get. This is not always the case, but it is a general rule of thumb.

Now it should be noted that there are many features and services that come with MetaTrader. We have discussed these in detail many times before as well. However, these features are specific to the software, and the broker has nothing to do with it for the most part. Things like automated trading, expert advisors, the MySQL community, and so on. These are all features that are within MetaTrader and that brokers did not employ themselves. Hence we can’t give them credit for that.

The only trading resource that AximTrade has on offer for potential new clients and for their already existing clients is of an economic calendar. That’s all. You will find this under the “tools” menu section, and when visiting the page, you will find a widget of an economic calendar from the MQL5.

This means that they did not alter or change this calendar in any way, and there is no additional information that it provides or that AximTrade was willing to provide for it. This section of our review (when it comes to reputable brokers) is typically full of useful information that new traders can use in conjunction with opening an account with their favorite broker. In the case of AxiTrade, they don’t have anything to offer, so this is not the case.

  • Economic calendar

AximTrade Account Types

There are four account types that clients can open with AximTrade. Remember that registering an account will have you open up their Standard account automatically, and if you would like to open another account, you would do so from within the dashboard.

The four account types are Standard, Cent, Electronic Communication Network (ECN), and Infinite. For the most part, the Standard, Cent, and ECN accounts are very similar. The base currencies for all three accounts are the same as well as the lot and position size.

The leverage on the Standard account is 1:3000, while the Cent account is 1:2000, and the ECN account has a leverage of 1:1000. The Standard and Cent account does not take a commission for trades placed, but the ECN account does, and that is set to 3 USD.

Then all accounts have negative balance protection, hedging, and a minimum trading volume of 0.01 lots.

The infinite account is based on no leverage, or rather there is no maximum to the amount to which it can be set. Even the leverage for the other accounts is quite a lot. Professional traders rarely use the leverage that is this high because of the risks involved regarding Margin calls and stop outs.

Another factor to consider is that the spreads on these accounts (except for the ECN account) are pretty high compared to other brokers. It would help to remember that their spread for Energies is also pretty high. So, we recommend heading to their specifications page to better understand the spread for various assets (ones you enjoy trading).

The last thing we can take note of regarding the trading accounts that AximTrade has to offer is that at a low minimum deposit, all accounts require 1 USD except for the ECN account, which is 50 USD. Typically brokers that offer ECN accounts have higher deposit requirements because these accounts are designed for experienced traders.

TLDR

  • Electronic Communication Network Account: This account is best for low spreads and those the traders that would benefit the most from this are scalpers who trade in high volume, daily. This account is partially automated, in that traders are directly connected to liquidity providers: brokerages and banks, and even other traders through an ECN server. This way, traders are able to lower than market rate spreads and essentially eliminate the middleman.
  • Demo account: This free client account is recommended for investors seeking to familiarize themselves with AximTrade’s accounts, trading platforms and solutions. However, this demo account is so easy to locate on their site.Below is a quick step-by-step on how to open an AximTrade demo account:1) Visit the AximTrade site here.
    2) On the right, you’ll find a registration New Member/Member Login panel. Choose New Member and proceed to create a profile if you don’t already have an AximTrade account. After your application’s been accepted and ben granted access to the Members Area, you can then choose to open a Live Account or Demo Account also referred to as a Practice Account.
    3) To start trading with this broker, you would have to download one of their trading platforms (MT4/MT5).AximTrade’s practice account provides clients with virtual funds and full access to MT4, as well as client support. You can contact customer support anytime during your time practising with this free account.

Do I Have Negative Balance Protection with This Broker?

The only information we can find on AximTrade and if they offer negative balance protection is in their trading accounts section. As the image in the above section shows, you can see that all their accounts do have negative balance protection as part of their feature.

Then, a blog post by Aximdaily, which is not listed on their official site, indicates that the broker offers negative balance protection.

They specifically state, “Traders can choose between various account types based on their trading strategy, experience, and capital designed for investment. Choices include Standard, Cent, or ECN trading accounts. All accounts offer negative balance protection with a low spread from zero to 1 pip on all majors.”.

Remember that when looking for a safe and reliable broker, your best bet is to choose a broker that offers negative balance protection because this essentially means that you will never lose more than what you deposited.

  • Yes, negative balance protection on all accounts

AximTrade Deposits and Withdrawals

Regarding Axim and their non trading fees: deposits and withdrawal methods, there are many, and they are quite comprehensive. For full details on their deposit and withdrawal options, you should head to this page to see if there is a preferred method for you. However, we will cover the majority of their options.

In terms of e-wallets, they offer everything from Neteller to Skrill, Alipay to WeChat, and Zalopay to UPI. There are about 13 different e-wallet methods that you can use to deposit funds, and this does not include crypto deposit methods like Bitcoin and Ethereum, which they also have.

They then also have typical online bank transfers and payments via local bank transfers along with Master Card and Visa (which is coming soon). The minimum deposit will vary substantially depending on the method you choose, but you just need to remember the minimum deposit required for all trading accounts is 1 USD except for the ECN account, which is 50 USD, so this is the minimum.

The countries that support the varying payment methods, so again, it would be best to go and peruse the page to see what suits your situation best.

Their withdrawal options are all quite extensive but not as long as the methods listed for depositing. Many options like Neteller, WeChat, Skrill, Zalopay, and more are available, along with crypto and online banking. Then local bank transfers and depositors are an option, with Master Card and Visa coming soon.

The claim processing times to withdraw funds are instant, but you will have to remember that the method you choose may, in some cases, have a delayed time in processing your withdrawal. For example, some banks usually take 2 to 3 business days for capital to clear, regardless if the broker processes the transaction immediately.

  • Minimum deposit for accounts is 1 USD and 50 USD for the ECN account
  • E-wallet (Skrill, Neteller, Fasapay, WeChat, Alipay, China Union Pay MomoPay, Zalopay, UPI, Paytm)

Support Service for Customer

You will find the “contact us” link for AxiTrade if you head to the footer section of their site (the same area where you can find information on their regulations). Clicking on this link will take you to the contact us section, where you will find three support channels at your disposal.

The first is an Email address for support that is listed as in operation 24/5, and the address is;

Then on the page is a contact form where you can submit a message. The support team here is available 24/7, and you will need to leave your contact Email for them to respond.

The last method is their live chat, which you can access directly from their website, whether you are a client or not. This will probably be your best bet if you are looking for a quick response and an answer to almost any question you may have.

It should be noted that other brokers do have additional forms of support channels like social media, telephone support, FAQs, and Help sections. AxiTrade, in this case, only has these three methods, and even though live chat is one of the best possible support services, a few more options would be nice.

Lastly, when we looked into the support live chat feature, we found that the only language supported was English. For a broker dealing in the SEA and MENA regions, it is optimal to have support in other languages from the applicable countries.

Prohibited Countries: Where Can I Not Trade with this Broker?

AximTrade also makes it incredibly easy to find the countries where they cannot provide services. This information can also be found in the footer section of their website under the regulation’s information.

Remember that international online brokers may not operate in specific regions based on numerous factors. For example, in many cases, international brokers are not allowed to operate in the US because of the strict laws enforced by the SEC.

AxiTrade does not provide services to Australia, Canada, Ethiopia, Gibraltar, Israel, New Zealand, North Korea, Philippines, Poland, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America.

Special Offers for Customers

Take a look at our other reviews (and this applies to basically all brokers). You will find that in one form or another, they will usually have special promotions that are used to incentivize clients and new customers.

For example, ZFX has competitions that traders can take part in. These competitions include incredible prizes and even a weekend away. Some other brokers sometimes have a welcome bonus where you will receive a couple of dollars for signing up (usually 30 to 50 USD). Here you can trade with the bonus and withdraw any winnings that you accumulate.

There are also other promotions like deposit bonuses, referral programs, IB programs, loyalty programs, and more (far too many to discuss). These are all ways that a broker provides to keep clients happy and enthusiastic not only about trading but also trading with that particular broker.

AximTrade has two sections on their site titled “contest” and “promotions,” and heading to these two pages, you won’t find anything other than a screen saying there are no current promotions or a blank screen (in the case of contests).

AximTrade Review Conclusion: Reputable Broker with Easy-to-use Platform

Even though they sponsor an F1 Team, this does not mean that they are reputable. We suggest looking at other international brokers that offer "better" services before signing up with AximTrade.

PIPPENGUIN

A few websites claim AximTrade is not a safe broker and refer to them having licenses by the SVG and BVI. However, looking at the information provided on their website, we see that they are, in fact, regulated by ASIC and the FSA. This is contradictory, and when we asked support through their live chat feature about this, they just copied and pasted the regulations that are visible on the site.

Also, there are no reviews from clients that we could find via sites such as Trustpilot to give us an indication of clients’ sentiments toward the brokerage. There were reviews but not that many that we could draw a conclusion on. Even though they sponsor an F1 Team, this does not mean that they are reputable. We suggest looking at other international brokers that offer “better” services before signing up with AximTrade.

Summary and Key Takeaways

AximTrade is an average broker that has a limited instruments list. They offer no special promotions (at this time), and their trading resources in market news, analysis, and trading education are nonexistent.

They have four account types which are primarily designed to trade around forex, and leverage on the infinite account has no set maximum. Traders may think this is a good thing and they can capitalize, but the higher the leverage, the increased risk.

They do have some good features, like multiple payment gateways and a very easy signup process, but this is not enough for us to put them in the realm of some of the best brokers that are on offer.

  • Regulated by ASIC and the FSA
  • Low entry to start trading with a minimum deposit of 1 USD
  • Flexible leverage that can be infinite
  • Many payment gateways
  • Mobile Trading App
  • Only offer MT4
  • MT4 is available on Windows, Mac, Android, and Web Terminal
  • Assets list is limited
